Katie and Matt are newlyweds living on Oahu. They got married in Chicago two months ago, among family and friends and decided to have a last minute honeymoon at The Fairmont Kea Lani Maui before Matt is deployed to Iraq. He is leaving for an entire year, in just a few short days. It breaks my heart to think about being apart from my husband Elan for more than a week, let alone an entire year. It also makes me appreciate even more the profound sacrifices our troops and their families make for the safety of our country.
Katie & Matt wanted to document this happy time in their lives, and I really enjoyed photographing them.

Anna-these are really fantastic! The sky, the water, the couple…all clear and vivid as if I was really there seeing them with my own eyes ….I love that the sky and water aren’t blown out… By far one of your best, photographically speaking, IMHO….but what do I know???

I too love the bamboo shot. The composition in VERY nice. The sun flare is also very special and the kiss on the beach is a beauty. The bride chose the perfect color dress for a photo shoot on the beach. These kids are so young my heart breaks for them knowing what they are about to go through. I’m keeping my fingers that this will make them stronger and they will come to enjoy the blessings of a long and happy marriage. This is the best collection of yours I’ve seen yet!
