Jennifer & Matt: Getting their feet wet

These photos were taken a few days before their wedding here on the island, and the two of them could not have been more excited! Jennifer and Matt traveled from Tennessee and I just love their Southern accents. Right off the bat, I knew we could be good friends if they only lived on Maui. Matt met Jennifer when he was interviewing at different pharmacies, and when he happened to interview with Jennifer, he was easily convinced to accept the job. It has been a sweet romance ever since!

Congratulations, Jennifer & Matt! If you do ever decide to open a pharmacy here, please let me be the first to know.

Crystal and Joseph flew out to Maui to finalize their wedding plans and have their engagement session. It was such a nice treat to be able to photograph the two of them before their big wedding date next year. The light was absolutely stunning, and the two of them were great fun to work with!

It’s always magic when love happens when one is least expecting it. Thomas had recently moved from London to Calgary for work. Being new to the town, and knowing very few people, he found a friend in his coworker, Anna. Their friendship quickly turned into romance, which then turned into buying a place together and raising two adorable English Bulldogs, and a romantic proposal.

They are set to marry in 2012, in London. These two were happily joking around and laughing during the shoot, and we had a lot of fun. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that Thomas has a hot British accent. And Anna, what’s there not to love about his sweet and sassy lady?

Jessica + Benji: Engaged!

A huge thank you to Pacific Weddings magazine for connecting me with one of the most lovable couples, Jessica and Benji. During their engagement session, the two – obviously head over heels in love with each other – modestly gushed about their plans for the future with a glimmer in their eyes and a few shy giggles. There’s a really sweet innocence about these two lovebirds!

A Maui Love Session: Alison & Aaron

How can you not adore the sight of two people crazily in love with each other? Alison & Aaron flew all the way from New York to vacation on Maui, and we had a great time with the shoot. There is so much to love about Alison — she’s sassy, flirty and stunningly beautiful. And seriously, what’s there not to love about Aaron, he’s confident, intelligent and handsome.

Alison & Aaron — I hope you haven’t ruled out the possibility of getting married in Maui and moving here. That *is* what all the cool people are doing.

A Maui Engagement Session: Trina & Mike

A few weeks ago, I met Trina and Mike who were visiting Maui. She was here for work while Mike scouted out the best golf courses. I instantly clicked with both of them. Trina reminds me of a sister that I never had…common interests & hobbies alike. And Mike is a wonderful guy who absolutely adores Trina. Both of them were playful and natural in front of the camera which made this photo session a breeze.

These shots were taken hours before they hopped on the plane to San Diego. Who knows, maybe they will be back for a Maui wedding.

A Maui upcoming wedding: Gayle & Rich’s engagement

Gayle & Rich, who are from Portland, were recently vacationing on Maui. This extremely cool couple just got engaged! After staying at the Sea Breeze Villa (what a beautiful place to celebrate!), they decided to change their wedding to a Maui destination wedding (and who can blame them?). I couldn’t personally think of a better place to get married, although I am biased, since my husband and I tied the knot here. But I am a firm believer that Hawaii is a little slice of heaven, with its exotic volcanic rocks, blue turquoise waters and warm soft sand.

Rich has a great sense of humor, he’s always making Gayle smile & laugh. And Gayle has an infectious smile that could light up any room. Their tropical wedding is next February, at the luxurious Sea Breeze Villa. Here are some photographs of their engagement session.

An upcoming Maui wedding: Charie & Matt’s Engagement

While I was in Los Angeles, I had the pleasure of meeting and photographing Charie and Matt. These two lovebirds are engaged, and are getting married this September at Gannon’s on Maui. They met back in high school and have been inseparable ever since. They are both are so natural in front of the camera, which made this engagement session a blast. Since they are from Glendale, we decided to do the engagement shoot in Old Town Pasadena. Old Town has a lot of old brick buildings and the architecture has a lot of character. (I actually lived there for a couple of years too!)

I hope you enjoy the images as much as I enjoyed taking them! I’m looking forward to being their wedding photographer in Maui this September!
