The Jalberts ~ Maui Family Photographer

Meet the Jalberts! Billy is one of Maui’s top Realtors, and Carla is a very talented photographer. Carla was lucky enough to have her family in town for the holidays. Her younger brother flew all the way from the Marshall Islands, where Carla was raised. I feel very honored to have been able to spend a few hours with this warm and loving family.

Baby Nikki ~ a newborn session on Maui
December 20, 2009WanYu had her baby! Elizabeth Nicole Kayes was born on December 15th, 2009 at Maui Memorial, weighing a healthy 6lbs 9oz. She is tiny, delicate and cute as a button. Congratulations WanYu & Andrew!

Bun in the Oven
December 11, 2009This sweet, sassy lass is WanYu. These are the final days of her pregnancy and in a few short weeks, she’ll be having a baby girl. She is a workout-aholic and many times a week you can find her teaching a grueling spin class at 24 Hour Fitness on Maui–even with her big pregnant belly. She has an organic beauty about her.
Here are some pictures taken before heading down to see the 50 foot waves at Jaws. Thanks to WanYu and her very pregnant belly, we had no problem hitchhiking to and from Jaws, saving our legs from walking 4 miles through pineapple fields.
Pup Love on Maui
December 10, 2009Meet my nephew Elijah. He is 17 months old, cute as a button and reminds me of a baby Buddha. Every time he comes over, the second he walks in the door he’s calling for Barkley. “Barrrkles? Barrrrrkles?”
Barkley is our handsome 4 year old pup. He is three times Elijah’s size but it does not frighten Elijah in the slightest. Actually, Elijah is quite intrigued by our big brown dog. And based on how well they get along, it’s safe to say Elijah is a dog lover. Here are some endearing pictures of the two of them playing.

Nicholas & Zachary ~ Maui, Hawaii Family Photographer
December 8, 2009Elan and I have had the pleasure of knowing these two boys from our very first days on Maui. Being a part of their lives has been incredible and a lot of fun, to say the least.
Nicholas, being highly inquisitive, is always asking tough science and math related questions. Jennifer is in the process of teaching him computer programming because he asked her to teach him. Mind you, he’s only 6. I’m almost the same height as him although – for now – I proudly tower over him by 5 inches. Next week might be another story, since he grows like a bean sprout.
Zachary — this 4 year old is FULL of personality and is one of the most lovable boys. He’s already learning to read which is impressive for his age. It’s rare not to find him smiling and being goofy. With his baby blue eyes and big smile, he’s fully aware of how to work his charm and cuteness to get what he wants. Yes, there is no doubt in my mind that Zachary is going to be a ladies’ man.
It was a pleasure taking these pictures of them playing around.
A pea in the pod ~ Maui, Hawaii Maternity Photographer
December 5, 2009Meet my sweet friend Nova. She’s 8 months pregnant and the baby is due on January 10th. This will be their second child and she and her husband Kevin are thrilled that they are expecting a girl this time! Nova stands just under 5 feet tall, but don’t let that fool you, what she lacks in height she makes up in spunk & personality. She is goofy, tells outrageous stories and she always has a big smile on her face. Always. Every time I hang out with this girl, there is always someone who comes up to her to tell her that she’s glowing. It’s true, she does glow. And she makes being pregnant look beautiful. Last Wednesday I had the great pleasure of photographing her.
